New Art and Craft Show in Las Vegas

This is a new show in the Las Vegas area that started last month.  It's located on the west side of the valley near Alta and Rampart at the Suncoast Casino.  It is a monthly event that just began this summer.
I will be at the August 30 market date as a jump start to my fall craft show season.  Please stop by to visit, shop, and see all the vendors and then be sure to stop by and see me too.  I'll have painted items for school and fall along with some of my killer deco mesh wreaths.
Below is an article from the newspaper on the event.  Its a great review and Vegas really needs some good crafting events on a regular basis.
Oh, and just about the cutest munchkin ever...Alex, our grandson.  He's 5 days old in this photo.

Some long over due craft show photos

I thought I posted pictures a while ago but apparently not...so here they are.  The weekend was forecast with possible wind and rain but we were blessed with perfect weather.
We had almost 100 people come out to shop...not bad for my first year event.
I converted the workshop for the chaos that is craft show season working into an actual craft show and I have to say I was pleased with how it turned out.
We had some soft and plush baby blankets Jackie brought.
The main focus was Christmas.
Rachel brought some cute stuffed characters as well as the awesome finished pieces.
Diane and I probably had too many posts but they sell so darn well that when the shows starts there are tons of them.
Santa was very popular at this and the last show.
We even had earrings that Diane's daughter helped the African women work on when she went on a service mission trip earlier this year.
We had some awesome deco-mesh wreaths.
I totally am in love with this one.
The quote on this one says it all don't you think?
I sold several of this style with the Indian corn this year...love it.
There were lots of gifty items too.
All in all, I was pleased with the way it turned out, the number of people who came, and the money they spent.  I'll be doing it again next year for sure.

McQueen Craft Faire Rocks

We had another successful year at the McQueen Craft Faire in Reno again this year.  I have to say, we have some really loyal followers up there and we love them!  The kids this year were very organized and helpful.  I gotta say the JROTC is the best!  Love them.
I even had kids help me set up this year.
I added a bunch of wreaths this year and they were very popular.  As always, the lighted porch posts are great sellers as well.
We had great weather, awesome crowds, and shoppers were happy and spending more than in years past.
Last year, I went in for my knee replacements the day after I got home from this event.  I have to say, this year was so much more enjoyable and easier for me.
I'm looking forward to next year already.  Love to be able to spend time with Timm's family up there, see customers who have become friends, and enjoy the Washoe Valley and Reno area.

NOTICE: CRAFT SHOW SCHEDULE CHANGE

I'm bummed to say that Rachel with 4 All Seasons is not holding her craft show this year at her home.  It is a good show, close to home, and easy work shifts.
I will still be in Logandale, NV (just 45 north of Las Vegas...on the way to Utah) for the Pomegranate Festival that Friday and Saturday, November 7&8.  It's held at the Clark Country Fairgrounds.  I'll have lots of Christmas decor, some Thanksgiving as well as some everyday items.  I hope you'll take the short drive and come enjoy the country for a day.

Another Successful Year at Art in the Park

Gosh, I still feel like I'm recovering from Art in the Park.  It was a gorgeous weekend and the crowds came out in droves and were ready to shop.
We filled our booth with tons of crafts including wreath, posts, blocks and lots of other great handmade items.
We refilled the booth each morning with new stock and the end of each day it looked like a tornado went through it.
Big thanks go out to my niece, Samantha who cam out to set up on Friday; to Diane's daughter who spent part of Friday and part of Saturday with us setting up and selling; and to my niece, Amanda who spent Sunday with us selling and tearing down.  Also big thanks to my hubby, Timm; my son Scott and his wife, Christy.  They all tore down Sunday evening and lugged stuff up the hill to the trailer...I owe you guys dinner.
Samantha and I finished our Friday set up with lunch at the Southwest Diner.  We finished lunch with warm pie with ice cream.  MMMMMMMM
Thanks to all who shopped with us...we appreciate all of you.

A little more detail...

I bought these reindeer at the gift market...I just fell in love with them.  But as much as I loved them they still needed to little touch of Twiddlebugz to them.
This is the before and after of what I did to them.  I always have to repaint the eyes, regardless of where the piece comes from.  I just like more detail.
I added more line details, made his smile bigger, and some high lights...and the eyes of course.
I really liked them before...but now I love them!
I'll have them at the next craft show.

Loving Deco Mesh

I have been crushing on deco mesh wreaths lately...love working with it.
Well, deco mesh and ribbon that it is...I love ribbon.
Here are a couple designs done in different colors so you can see just how different they can look.
I'm totally crushing on the whole black and white theme of this wreath.
Same design with this one, except purple mesh and a reverse print on the polka dot ribbon.  Amazing how different they can look.
Another black and white wreath with an orange jack-o-lantern with light up eyes.
A great fall wreath with metal punkin and leaves.
Halloween is so much fun to create.  Can you tell I love polka dots too.
Lots of fun metal and wood pieces were used to create these wreaths.
Most of these wreaths sold at my first show, but rest assured, I am creating more for the next one.

It's Time for the Harvest Festival!

Woo Hoo!  It's the first craft show of the season...the Harvest Festival is coming to Las Vegas this weekend, Sept 5-7!  This show brings lots of excitement for vendors and customers alike.

Don't forget to bring your discount coupon or non perishable food donation for Safe Nest to receive $2 off your entry fee.  The Country Register has a discount coupon on the cover, the newspaper has been running coupons as well.

I've seen TV commercials every morning this last week and this week during the news on Channel 8.  Billboards are up too.  Let's hope it brings in lots of excited buyers.

This year, I sucked it up and spent the money to get a double booth so I can feature Christmas as well as Harvest and Halloween.  With that being said...please...come shop with us!  We've moved locations within the show to do this, you can find us on the first row in space 128.

The show will be at Cashman Center and runs Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 10 to 5.
We'll see you there!

Fall and Halloween Blocks

I swear it feels like I've been working on blocks forever.  I cut them a few months back, finally sanded them in May and June and finished them in June.  Here are the Fall and Halloween choices for this year.

These will be available at my craft shows.  The first one will be Harvest Festival September 5-7 in Las Vegas at Cashman Center

Accepted...Art in the Park

It's always a relief to get that email that says I've been accepted to a show.  My hubby says, "Like there was any doubt?!"  I've done this show for years...and years ago when my kids were babies too.  I stopped for a while, then I was accepted every other year (that was frustrating), then I stopped for a bit, and have been doing it consistently for the last 10-12 years.
This year, look for me in spots 372-373.  It a different space from last year but it backs up to last year's space.  It faces north...always a goo thing.  It keeps the sun out of your space...keeping it cooler.
I'll have lots of great Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter as well as home and everyday items for your shopping pleasure.  So come early, and head over towards the playground for the best crafts around!

A great show and new knees

What a whirlwind the last 2 1/2 weeks have been.  October 16 I preregistered for the hospital, had blood work done and all the fun stuff that goes along with that.  The next morning we left for Reno for the McQueen Craft Faire.  I knew the set up would not be easy on me and it held true to form.  My knees were screaming at me for sure.
On a much better note, my hubby was there to help along with Diane and her daughter, Alise.  Thank goodness for Alise, she was our feet helping shoppers with  getting things off the walls, etc.  Diane was great about making sure I stayed sitting as much as possible.
Timm had never seen opening night...he was amazed and overwhelmed with the number of people that were in our booth...and that they made it their first destination.  He said it was like we were rock stars or something.  lol  Sadly, I didn't even have a chance to break out my camera...so no photos. :(
We had a fantastic show and had little to pack up at the end.  I'd like to give a shout out to the band and dance team.  I had two kids from these groups that helped pack up well and get things to the trailer where Timm loaded.  I'm sure they appreciated the donation they received from me.

We drove home Monday.  For anyone who's ever driven between Vegas and Reno knows there's not much out there.  I was glad to get home.  We enjoyed a family dinner with all the kids at Macayo's...my favorite place.  Cassy was sooooo glad to see us.  I hated to leave her home but my brother took good care of her.

We were at the hospital at 6:00 am the next morning for surgery.  I remember rolling into the operating room, getting on the table, and them strapping my arms down...and I was out.  I remember waking up in my room late that day with a CPM machine on both legs.  The staff at the hospital were great.  All were so kind.

After 4 days, I went to rehab for 5 more days.  Now I am home for a few days, everything is finally coming together.  Therapy is scheduled and coming 3 days this week, I get staples out on Friday. All the medications are scheduled and can't wait to continue to improve.  I won't gross you out with photos of scars, even though I'm told they look great.  I can't wait to feel good again and am willing to do what it takes to get there.

Thank you everyone for all your prayers.  Please continue for speedy healing and recovery.

North to Reno

For some reason I have that song, North to Alaska in my brain this morning.  My next craft show stop...North to Reno...lol.  We'll be at the McQueen Craft Faire in Reno this coming weekend.
This is one of the photos from last year's booth.  This year, I've added some super cute mesh wreaths.  I love making them.  It's a refreshing creative outlet that's different from what I normally do.

These are boxed and ready for the trip.
Here is a link to a video for this year's event.
I still have porch posts and some new bigger pieces as well.  I love this piece!  The spider's eyes light up and has a chalk board for the days countdown.  I saw a photo of this on Pinterest and had to make my own version.  I need one for Christmas too I think.
While I don't have as much product as I'd like to be taking, there is still lots of great items.  I was blessed to have a fantastic show at Art in the Park with record sales for me.

Timm is making the journey with me again this year.  It's good for him, he gets to spend some quality time with his brother John.  He's taking up 8 racks of ribs and tips he smoked up for him over the weekend.

This is my last show for the year.  Knee surgery will happen right after we get home and keep me down for a while.  However, I plan to paint windows in November and planning for next year already.

Art in the Park Almost Here

It's almost here!  This is one of the best craft shows in the western United States I'm telling ya.  It's always been a favorite of mine whether I've had a booth space or just shopping.
The first full weekend of October is a great time of year and this year will be no exception.  We're expecting some great, cooler fall weather in the upper 70's...perfect to get everyone into the fall spirit.
This year we are not in a normal space...but don't fear...we are just across the aisle in spaces 385-386 still bringing you some fantastic crafts for Halloween, Harvest, Christmas and everyday.
This year we are offering free personalization of most any item we offer including ornaments, gifts, yard decor and more.  Oh, and don't forget we take credit and debit cards as well for your convenience.  Are you excited yet?!  I know we are...and we can't wait to see you October 5 & 6 at the parks in down town Boulder City.
And just in case you can't wait...here is a few sneak peeks to get you motivated to come see us.
