Things are going to be crazy this weekend so just in case I don't get to it...I wish all the moms I know a Happy Mothers Day! The sacrifices mom's make for their children is something to behold. Our kids (and sometimes hubbies) never know what we are willing to give up, share, or do for them to make ends meet or make dreams come true. Happy Mothers Day!
Yes, this is a busy weekend around here. It starts tonight with a fundraising dinner for my nieces' Girl Scout troop. It's a mystery dinner like we used to do for Boy Scouts. It will be lots of fun for those who attend...and good food to boot. Saturday I have a board meeting in Boulder City for the ATV Club, but first I will drop off my car on the west side of town (I live on the east side of the valley) to car pool with other board members...that way I can hop in my car and head to the company picnic on the far northwest end of town. Timm is striping the pastures for parking this morning. Ahhh, I remember the days when our Scout troop worked the event...now I just have to show up and have a good time. It's going to be a hot one this year though so lots of water will be consumed by all. Kids will love the bounce houses, games, and petting zoo. Adults will love the band, booze, food and more. Sunday will take us back to the Lutz home to cut down a couple of palm trees near the pool that are starting to effect the block wall. Should be plenty interesting, scafolding will be involved. It's a favor in return since we had friends come cut down 11 trees in January. And of course I need to see my mother on Sunday...I made her a cool gift this year I think she will really like. Its an altered art scrabble board with everyone's names on it. It still needs a ribbon. I will finish my weekend at our oldest son's house with a BBQ for Mother's Day...and their wedding anniversary. I still need to finish that piece today. So.....I guess I'd better get to it and get my projects completed. See you all on Monday.

Surgery went well
Hey, I made it through my hesterectomy and I am home! It was an abdominal surgery since both my children were born by c-section. You know, I don't remember it hurting so bad though, probably since I had a beautiful child to focus on the last 2 times I was cut open. There was a lot more scar tissue than expected, infact, the uterus and bladder were adhered together. There was a very large fibroid attached to the uterus as well. The doctor explained it as half a mickey mouse hat. No wonder I wasn't feeling well. On a sour note, I had to come home with a cathiter and won't get it until April 3rd. Geesh!
Anyway, I'm home now and feeling better everyday. Mom and Dad have been over everyday to help and visit. In fact, they are grocery shopping for me today. Timm took off 4 days last week to be at the hospital and home for me...what an awesome guy he is. I think he worries a lot about me even though he won't admit it. I realize I do tend to do lots of things I probably shouldn't so he figures it's just par for the course. My kids have been good about helping me, I think they worry also.
On a crafty note, I finished tying the polar fleece blanket yesterday for Justin's boy. Today I am clipping rag quilts. I finished 9 of them before I went in so I would have something to do when I got out. Keep crafting everyone...it is still National Craft Month. I have faces to put on a few dolls and get them listed on Etsy and Artfire.
Thanks to all my family and friends for good thoughts, prayers, meals, and chores. I really do appreciate every bit of it. I can tell it's about time for another pain pill...and a nap.

All is well
What a whirl wind week it has been. But I'm glad to say all is well. I've been getting ready for our open house, attending doctor appointments and meetings, and helping out my mom as well. She had her gall bladder removed on Friday. The doc said it was text book surgery...that is good I'm told, no complications, wierd stuff, etc. Mom totally goes off the deep end thinking she won't wake up from the anethesia. The surgery part gets her a little but the anethesia is her big thing. To top it off she's reallyy allergic to many medications. Anyway, we sat in the waiting room all Friday morning, I crocheted squares, and she went home that day. So far so good, she even came to our open house the next day.
Saturday was the open house...finally. It seems I've been getting ready forever. The valances in the kitchen and dining room got finished, hung the curtains in the kitchen to block the washer and dryer from view, washed and waxed the floors, washed the windows, swept and vacuumed for the billionth time, baked 3 batches of cookies, 8 loaves of pumpkin bread, prepped more food than we needed....breathe Crystal...it will all be fine...and it was.
It's just overwhelming. We've worked so hard (especially Timm during construction phase) to make changes and make this home ours...not his mom's home. Timm's brother John and his wife, Rhonda surprised us and came in from Reno. It was a real treat to have them here. His sister even came, I was shocked...and pleased. (She didn't want us to change anything) It was a relief to hear others compliment what has been done. I know it was a huge relief and very satisfying for Timm to get the approval of his family...afterall, they grew up in this house. They even liked all the trees not being in the front yard. Anyway, here are a few photos of the house...enjoy.
