Catch a falling star

This little dolly is for a friend of friend of mine. There is a real touching story behind it...let me tell you what I know about it in a nut shell. Her mom's health was failing and one of the last things she said to her daughter was 'catch a falling star'. It made me cry...as most sentimental things do. She saw my dolls through Facebook and asked if I'd make one for her relating to this. I'm honored to have the priviledge to create something so personal and meaningful to another. I hope she enjoys her, she was a pleasure to make. This doll is one of my larger ones, has a weighted bottom so she sits well, her head is a seperate piece. I've painted her face, used a permanent pen for the line details, glazed her eyes so they sparkle and shine, shes also has adorable brown highlighted pigtails made from a mohair blend yarn. She holds a star with hand painted quote and brushed with starlite glaze so it sparkles. Her leggings have been painted with a red and white stripes under her blue microplaid bloomers, and as requested, she is wearing a country blue and dusty rose dress. I think she is full of character and spitfire. I can't wait to get her sent out so she can be forever loved and enjoyed.
