We're Grandparents!

I'm excited to say that Timm and I are now grandparents to this adorable little man!
Alexander Scott Martin
I had my friend from Sara Ford Fotos come over and take a photo session at 5 days old.  Oh my gosh...talk
about cuteness!  I could hardly stand it.

Grandpa and Alex, 7 days old.
I took a few photos with my phone during the photo shoot.  I love this one.
So precious!
He was born on July 23 via c-section after a very long day.  I am happy to say Momma and baby are doing well...so is Daddy.  Congrats Chris and Bri...you done good.

Chris and Bri's mountain wedding

On Saturday, January 11 our youngest son, Chris married his fiance, Bri at
The Lodge on Mt. Charleston outside of Las Vegas.
It was a beautiful day and the bridal party was looking fabulous.
I feel very blessed to say Chris'  Uncle John (from Washoe Valley) performed the ceremony.  He just seemed like the perfect man for the job since he was involved with the engagement.  Chris and Bri were staying at his home for the weekend when Chris asked her to marry him at Lake Tahoe.
Bri is an animal lover and works as a vet tech.  Her dog, Titus was the ring bearer and did a great job.

Chris and Bri wrote their own vows.  The words that came out of my son's mouth were pure love and poetry.  Who knew that was in him!  Many tears were in the eyes of the guests at that point.  I think her expression in the photo says it all. (She swore she wouldn't cry...but she did)
This is me...mother of the groom.  I made all the floral arrangements, bouquets and decorations.
I used pine for all the greens since it was a mountain wedding.
What a great looking bunch of guys!

The happy couple!

Our baby turns 26

Seriously, how did this happen?  I just don't know...hard to believe it happened right before my eyes.  I so wish I had baby pictures on my computer...but alas, only the last few years is all you get to see.

Yeah, I know, it's not a great photo of either one of us.  Bit it's Christmas morning with no make up or hair yet.
I'm so proud to say he's turned out to be an awesome young man!  I never had my doubts but I'm still amazed with this guy sometimes.
He loves to camp, ride his ATV, shoot, and more.  He's also a great cook.
He'll hang out with me when no one else will.  He's cut, sanded, and painted more wood than he would care to mention.  He even painted windows with me during the holiday season.  He's an awesome welder, too.
He's a war buff, super knowledgeable about firearms and can shoot like nobody's business.  This is a recent photo of him shooting a 535 yard shot...and he hit it several times.
Last year, he and Bri got engaged while in Reno/Tahoe.  What a romantic guy he can be.
Looks like a wedding this coming winter for these two.
As a parent, you strive to raise your children to be the best people they can be.  You want them to be trustworthy, helpful, courteous, loyal, helpful, friendly, kind, obedient, thrifty, brave, clean and reverberant...oh wait, that's all the points of the Scout Law.  I'm so proud of my Eagle Scout.
Here's wishing our baby boy...all 280 pounds. 6 foot 4 inches of him a very happy (although this post is late) birthday!  We love you pieces!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

It's hard to believe my baby is 24 today...where does the time go.
Seems like time flies in the blink of an eye.
Chris just enjoyed a trip to Kolob Reservoir with friends.  His dog, Shelby went along.  They both had a great time fishing, kayaking, and hanging out with friends.
Chris loves his truck.  He just put new tires on it...and he had to try them out to see what they could do on a recent trip to St. George.
Chris is an awesome young man!  I love him to pieces.  Happy Birthday my dear!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Hugs, kisses, and best wishes to our youngest son, Chris!  Today is his 23rd birthday (I know, you wonder how I had a child when I was only 7...ROFL).  He is a fine young man that I am so proud of.  He enjoys riding his 4-wheeler, camping, shooting (he is quite the marksman), video games, and more.  He is an Eagle Scout and his goal is to become a police officer, and considering time in the military to progress towards his goal.  He and his dog Shelby make quite the pair.  Happy Birthday to my sweetie pie!  We love you!

Happy Birthday Chris!

So when did I get so old that my baby turned 22? That's right, Chris is 22 today. It all went by so fast. He is an awesome young man that I am so proud of.

We've been through the whole Scouting program...Tigers to Eagle Scout, and even some Venturing. I was his den leader all through Cub Scouts and Dad was his Scoutmaster in Boy Scouts. He was a great Senior Patrol Leader and enjoyed 2 summers staffing at Del Webb High Adventure Camp. In fact, one summer he ran the aquatics program at Kolob Reservoir (all by himself). Is there a better way to spend the summer? I think not.

Chris is a streak of lightening on his sport quad...literally. He was flying (yes, flying) past Curtis and a few others, hit the soft shoulder on the gravel road and kept going. He is one speedy rider on that Outlaw and loves it. As a mom I wish he were a little more cautious but that's what these guys like to do.

Chris has high goals of becoming a Metro police officer and I know he will make a fine officer one day. I've finally gotten over the whole scared thing about it. He is goal is to be on SWAT. He'd make a damn good sniper...he's a dang good shooter.

Chris has this fetch-obsessed dog, Shelby. She is a sweetheart of a dog Chris saved from a friend that could no longer keep her. She and our dog, Cassy are bestest buds. Pretty much where one is, so is the other.

Chris, my baby boy, we wish you a Happy Birthday! We are so proud of you and the fine young man you turned out to be. Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it. We love you! Mom & Dad
