Last Saturday while the guys were building a shade structure in the back yard at Scott and Christy's, I taught Christy to sew. A couple of weeks ago she bought some beautiful elephant flannel in Cedar City on a weekend get-away. We went shopping and bought some coordinating fabric so she could make a blanket for her friend, Melissa.
She hadn't touched a sewing machine since 7th grade. I brought my spare machine over and we set up for the day of fun. She picked it up well, and was off and running.
Here is the finished project. It's a nice sized 5 foot by 7 foot flannel blanket with a double layer of warm and natural inside to keep her friend warm in those cold Minnesota winters. The front and back are the same.
I'm so proud of my daughter-in-law!
