Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to each and everyone of our soldiers that have served this great country past and present. May God bless each and everyone one them. Their service and sacrifice allow us the freedoms we have today.

Time to get out of town

It's time to get out do some exploring. We're taking an extended long weekend to go camping, ride our ATV's and explore some ghost towns and mines.

This will be my first time to ride since surgery in March so I am excited to get out. Going with a group of friends.
The trailer is packed and we are on the road...see you when we return. Enjoy your weekend.

Cassy goes to the vet

Did I ever tell you how much me and especially my hubby love our Cassy-girl. She is something special and Timm will do just about anything for her. She has been kinda coughing for a few days and seemed like there was something stuck she was trying to cough up. Could it be part of the rib bone she stole out of the garbage a few days ago? Anyway, it isn't getting any better so a trip to the vet was made for this morning. Nothing stuck, fortunately! Lungs are clear. It's a mild case of bronchitus (loosely known as kennel cough according to the vet)...totally treatable. She received a shot of amoxicillin and an RX for the same in pill form. She doesn't like shots by the way....nor the thermometer stuck up her butt, but she did have a mild temp so I guess it was necessary. Now we love our vet but I think he is pricing himself right out of our budget. It was $170 for today's visit.
So...Cassy, along with her mommy and daddy may not get to go camping this weekend with all their friends. She loves to ride on the ATVs, camp, hang out at the campfire, and play in the water. We will have to see, her visit ate a big chunk of our trip money for this weekend.

Some new items...

finally. I know it's about time I really painted something. I started painting on cabinet doors last year and they have been well received. Here are three I completed this week. I think I like the one with the flags and watermelon the best. I listed it on Etsy today. And summer seems to bring out the patriot in all of us anyway so I also have the one with "Old Glory" around it. You know I have to be writing on my work and the borders on these are just screaming for it.

My First French Market

Today I attended my first French Market, it's a farmers market on the northwest end of town that just started this month. Today was it's second event. It's Las Vegas and it's mid May...I was totally not looking forward to the heat. Today was the first day it's supposed to break 100 degrees. But I have to admit, it was really nice on the grass, under the tents, in the shade. The breeze was lovely...not too much...just right.
Jason did a great job. All the tents were up when we got there, check in was easy, french music played all day, yummy veggies of all sorts, roasted corn, cool crafts, pleasant atmosphere, good neighbors, and more. This event will take time to grow and I think it will be awesome by the time it gets there.
Thanks to my family and friends that came by to visit and support me. I really appreciate it. It was nice to catch up with each other. Please come back to see me there on May 30.

Livin' Sxinney!

Can I just tell you I am lovin' Liv Sxinney! I have cut my bloodsugar levels in half...yes...I said HALF! I was consistantly averaging a +/-250 and up blood sugar level and now I am ranging 105-145. Not only am I excited and feeling so much better but my doctor is thrilled. And what a bonus, I am losing weight and inches...and earning money. It's so easy to do, tastes yummy, and really works. I just want to share it with everyone...let me tell you more. Leave your email in a comment and I will share with you!

Mom's Day Gifts

Whew! That was a busy weekend. Got some pictures yesterday morning of my mom's gift and thought I would share. I am just lovin' these altered art scrabble boards. I will have to be on the hunt for more since I have now used all the ones I had found previously.

Mom's day was good. The guys whipped through the palm tree cutting so we enjoyed the company of friends for the morning and had an early lunch. Went to Lowes (I know, I know) to pick up some more irrigation supplies for the yard. Stopped off at my mom's to visit her and give her that really cool scrabble board...she loves it my the way. We worked in the yard for a while, then cleaned up and went to our son's for dinner. I thought that was enough but they also got me one of the Jane Seymour 'Open Hearts' necklaces. As much as I love it, they really shouldn't have since Scott is unemployed at the moment. (Anyone need a good deisel mechanic?) My youngest got me a gorgeous bouquet of tulips, they are one of my favorites. All in all a great day.
Thought I would share a few other pieces with scrabble tiles I've nade recently. I'll be listing them on my website and etsy tomorrow if you're interested.

A Busy Weekend

Things are going to be crazy this weekend so just in case I don't get to it...I wish all the moms I know a Happy Mothers Day! The sacrifices mom's make for their children is something to behold. Our kids (and sometimes hubbies) never know what we are willing to give up, share, or do for them to make ends meet or make dreams come true. Happy Mothers Day!

Yes, this is a busy weekend around here. It starts tonight with a fundraising dinner for my nieces' Girl Scout troop. It's a mystery dinner like we used to do for Boy Scouts. It will be lots of fun for those who attend...and good food to boot. Saturday I have a board meeting in Boulder City for the ATV Club, but first I will drop off my car on the west side of town (I live on the east side of the valley) to car pool with other board members...that way I can hop in my car and head to the company picnic on the far northwest end of town. Timm is striping the pastures for parking this morning. Ahhh, I remember the days when our Scout troop worked the event...now I just have to show up and have a good time. It's going to be a hot one this year though so lots of water will be consumed by all. Kids will love the bounce houses, games, and petting zoo. Adults will love the band, booze, food and more. Sunday will take us back to the Lutz home to cut down a couple of palm trees near the pool that are starting to effect the block wall. Should be plenty interesting, scafolding will be involved. It's a favor in return since we had friends come cut down 11 trees in January. And of course I need to see my mother on Sunday...I made her a cool gift this year I think she will really like. Its an altered art scrabble board with everyone's names on it. It still needs a ribbon. I will finish my weekend at our oldest son's house with a BBQ for Mother's Day...and their wedding anniversary. I still need to finish that piece today. So.....I guess I'd better get to it and get my projects completed. See you all on Monday.

I signed up to sell at a new venue in Las Vegas. It's called the French Market and it's put together by one of my friends and her hubby. First one is today but I wasn't quite ready with enough product. Please come by and support me, along with other food, flower, and craft vendors on May 16 and May 30. It's just off US95 and Durango, turn right onto Durango, turn right onto Farm, turn right on Norman Rockwell. Easy to find and close to the freeway. The website is www.yourfrenchmarket.com, go take a peek.
